To become a class 1 load pilot, you need to be a class 2 (lower grade) pilot and meet the experience criteria.
To meet the criteria, this includes the class 2 pilot working behind (second pilot position) on at least 25 occasions, as well as holding the class 2 load pilot licence for at least 12 months.
